Broadcloth
Privacy Policy
Effective July 6, 2026
Broadcloth works because you trust it with photos of your clothes and, sometimes, of yourself. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it, in plain language. It covers the Broadcloth iPhone app and getbroadcloth.com, operated by Antimatter LLC.
The two commitments everything else follows from:
1. Your photos are used to run Broadcloth for you — nothing else. We will never share, sell, or publish them.
2. We will never email you about anything other than Broadcloth. No marketing lists, no partner offers, no "friends of the brand."
1. What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in with one-time codes.
- Style profile: your answers about coloring (metal preference, depth, eye clarity, contrast), your build (silhouette, frame, torso, optional measurements), and your style preferences.
- Wardrobe: the photos you take of your clothing, and the item details derived from them (category, color, material).
- Evaluation photos: photos you choose to submit of yourself wearing an outfit, or of items you're considering in a store.
- Approximate location, only if you use weather-aware suggestions: used at request time to fetch local weather. We do not build a history of your movements.
- Subscription state: whether your subscription is active, reported by Apple. Payment details stay with Apple; we never see them.
- Messages you send us: if you write to us through the website's contact form, the address and message you submit (received and stored for us by our website host).
- Service records: ordinary technical logs and processing records needed to run the service, enforce quotas, and diagnose problems.
That's the whole list. We don't run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking, and we don't buy data about you.
2. How we use it
To run Broadcloth: classify the garments you photograph, compose and score outfits, produce your styling guides, generate shopping suggestions, and evaluate the photos you submit. Your profile, wardrobe data, and photos are processed by AI models to produce these results — including models run by our AI provider (currently Anthropic's Claude API), which processes them on our instructions to generate your results and not for its own purposes.
We also use your data to provide support when you write to us, to enforce fair-use quotas, and to keep the service working.
3. Email
We email you sign-in codes, account and subscription notices, replies to messages you send, and occasional service announcements that affect your use of Broadcloth. That's it. Every email we send is about your Broadcloth account or the Broadcloth service.
4. Your photos
Photos are visible only to you in the app. They are transmitted to our servers and AI provider to produce your results, and stored so your wardrobe works across sessions. They are never shared with other users, never sold, never published, never used for advertising, and never provided to third parties for their own use.
5. When data leaves our systems
We share data only with the service providers required to operate Broadcloth — hosting infrastructure, AI processing, and weather lookup — each receiving only what its function needs, under terms that restrict use to providing the service. Beyond that, we would disclose data only if legally compelled, or as part of a transfer of the business itself — in which case these commitments follow the data.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can delete individual items and photos at any time in the app. Deleting your account removes your photos, wardrobe, and style profile from our production systems, with residual copies aging out of backups shortly after. You can delete your account from the app's settings or by asking through the contact form.
7. Security
Data moves between the app and our servers over encrypted connections, and access to production systems is restricted to the people who operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface small: little collected, nothing resold, no ad networks.
8. Children
Broadcloth is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
You can access and update your profile and wardrobe in the app, and delete any of it — or all of it — yourself. For a copy of your data, or for any request under the privacy laws of your region (such as GDPR or CCPA rights to access, correction, deletion, and portability), send it through the contact form and we'll handle it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the current version will always be at this page, with its effective date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. The two commitments at the top are not going to change.
